Telegram Scrape

Your brand's Telegram impersonation channels — found before your customers find them

Telegram's public channel API is an open directory. Brandefense submits brand keyword queries daily against channel names, usernames, and descriptions — and flags channels with high member counts, trust-signal name patterns, or credential-harvesting content for immediate takedown submission to Telegram's abuse team.

Methodology

Public channel enumeration at scale

Telegram's public channel search API returns channel metadata — name, username, description, member count, and activity signals — for any keyword query. Brandefense submits dozens of brand term variations daily and scores results using a combination of:

Name similarity scoring — exact match, partial match, and phonetic match against your brand terms, with higher weight for support/service/official suffixes.

Member count weighting — channels with >500 members receive elevated risk scores regardless of name similarity, as impersonators often grow channels rapidly through targeted invite campaigns.

Activity recency — recently active channels posting financial or credential-harvesting content are escalated immediately.

What we find

The impersonation patterns Brandefense catches daily

Fake Support Channels

Channels posing as official brand customer support — collecting login credentials, OTPs, and KYC documents from customers who believe they're talking to the real company.

Investment Scam Channels

Channels impersonating a financial brand's official communications to promote fake investment products or advance-fee fraud targeting existing customers.

Credential Harvesting Bots

Telegram bots deployed through impersonation channels that prompt users to "verify" their account by entering login credentials into a phishing form.

Reseller Fraud Channels

Channels selling counterfeit or unauthorized products under your brand name, damaging brand equity and creating consumer protection liability.

Telegram monitoring

Your brand has a Telegram impersonation channel — probably more than one

Most brands discover active channels in the first demo scrape. Brandefense queries Telegram's public API for your brand keywords and shows you what's there. No commitment required to see the exposure.
